The Blanket Exercise – Prairie Rose Seminole, ELCA Rep 2-3:30 pm ET
The blanket exercise is a unique, participatory history lesson developed in collaboration with Indigenous elders, knowledge keepers and educators that fosters truth, understanding, respect among Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Within the ELCA, we examine the Churchwide action of repudiating the Doctrine of Discovery and our movement toward breaking down systems of oppression and empire to one of inclusion and right relationship with one another. Total time is 90 minutes.

Practicing Radical Hospitality: Welcoming All to Learn from All – Rev. Philip Johnson 2:30-3:30 p.m. ET
This workshop will explore the calling of ELCA colleges to practice radical hospitality. Questions to be probed include: What do we consider the marks of radical hospitality? How is hospitality an expression of the Gospel? What are we doing in congregations and on ELCA campuses today that embody radical hospitality?

 
Faithful Innovations – Rev. Jim Duehring (Offered twice) 2:30-3:30 pm ET or 4-5 pm ET
Learn about this training process for adaptive change within your congregation. Goals of “Faithful Innovations” include skills for listening to God, community, and each other and encouraging “holy experiments.” Come and learn how “Faithful Innovations” might enhance the vitality of your congregation.

In a polarized and anxious time, how do we as people of faith have productive and meaningful conversations about things that matter?

Connected: 5 social media tips for congregations.
 
 
Biblical Imagination – Rev. Warren Geier 4-5 pm ET
Rather than understanding Scripture as a history book, a science book, or a self-help manual, consider the Bible as a work of divinely inspired imagination. We will look at how reading the Bible with the same kind of imagination used by those who wrote it helps one to ask better questions and get to the truth of the gospel.
