Prayer Calendar for May 2008

May 1
Praise to Jesus the crucified, now ascended Lord!  Pray for the NGLS Synod Staff, Synodical Women’s Organization board, and pastors and lay people of Conference 5 all who meet this day.
May 2
Pray for Pastor Fran Strong, his wife Grace, Pastor Christian Muellerleile, his wife Kateri and their child, and the members of Christ Lutheran Parish – St Paul, Salem, St John, and Zion, Ironwood.
May 3
Pray for the members of Christ, Edmondson MD (Rev Bob Schmitt), Gloria Dei!, Arnod MD (Revs Tom Williamsen, Ana Langerak, Hudo Zavandro), and Haven, Hagerstown MD (pastor). 
May 4
Pray for those attending the Suomi Conference meeting this day.
May 5
Pray for those preparing for confirmation – may they remember their baptism and the promise God made to them, may their faith be strengthened, their hearts opened, and their lives forever changed by the presence of the Holy Spirit at work in them.
May 6
Pray for the members of the Leadership Support Committee – Revs Mike Laakko, Bill Jacobson, Dorothy Lindstrom, along with Gale Hellier, Ron Lawrence, Tim Mulvaney, Soren Schmidt, and Bishop Skrenes.

Pray for the members of the Lay School Board who meet this day – Revs David Echelbarger, Jonathan Schmidt, Tari Stage-Harvey, Robert Sutherland, Mary Weinkauf, along with Pauline Kiltinen, Terry Langenberg, Judy Mattson, Judith Quirk, and Bishop Skrenes.

Pray for Lori Hunter, AIM Candidate, Prince of Peace, Eagle River, as she celebrates her birthday.

Pray for the members of Bethany, Amasa and Trinity, Stambaugh, and Interim Pastor Doug Johnson, as they continue in the call process during a pastoral vacancy.

Pray for those attending the Fortune Lake Camp Festival ... for those meeting this day Youth Ministry Team – Revs Bill Jacobson, Kari Vadis, along with Brenda White, Jeremy Reese, Terri Shoquist, Daniel Stone & Wendy Black ... Endowment Board – Revs Devon Barrix, Steve Cowen, Virginia Eggert, Bob Langseth, along with Dave Veldhuizen, Dave Eitland, Dave Holli, Kay Knuth, Tim Mulvaney, Steve Peffers, Susan Roll, Wayne Stordahl, Roger Knuth, and Bishop Skrenes.

Pray that the gift of the Spirit given first at Pentecost, given to you in your baptism, may be renewed this day and every day, guiding and nurturing you in a life of faithful discipleship. Give thanks for Moms, too!

Pray for pastors who celebrate anniversaries of ordination this day – Donald Wandersee (retired) 52 years & Len Gilley (Salem, Bark River) 5 years ... for Pastor Jonathan Schmidt & the members of First, Gladstone as they celebrate 11 years of ministry together ... for Pastor Len Gilley & the members of Salem Bark River as they celebrate the 125th anniversary of the congregation.
May 17
Pray for the members of the Finlandia University Board of Directors who meet these days.
May 18
Give thanks to God who is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Pray for the members of Synod Council who meet this day – Bishop Skrenes, Revs Steve Cowen, Doug Johnson, Warren Geier, Lee Goodwin, Katheryn King, Mike Laakko, Fran Strong, Peter Vorhes, Jennifer Johnson-Wrege, along with Pauline Kiltinen, Dave Eitland, Phyllis Gottschalk, Jeannette Kuziej, Dan Laatsch, Barb Maines, Dave Mason, Judy Mattson, Elmer Moisio, Jean Sovey, Bruce Tusa.

Pray for those attending Synod Assembly these days. May the Holy Spirit be in the midst of our worship, fellowship, and discussions.

May 21
Pray for Pastor Lynn Hubbard, Eden, Munising, as he celebrates his 21st anniversary of ordination.
May 22
Pray for our retired clergy and their spouses – Rev Leon & Kay Lindquist and Rev Rell & Louise Spickerman. 
May 23
Pray for Pastor Norman Peterson, Immanuel, Rhinelander, as he celebrates his 32nd anniversary of ordination this day.

May 24

 Pray for pastors celebrating anniversaries of ordination this day – George Kaiser (retired) 41 years and John Shallow (Good Shepherd, Peshtigo) 24 years. 
May 25
Pray for Pastor John Kuziej, his wife Jeannette, and the members of Pioneer Lake, Conover, as they begin ministry together.
May 26
Pray for the members of Magomeni Lutheran Church (Rev Marko Mdumi), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and their NGLS companion congregation Zion, Manistique (Rev Dave Hueter).
May 27
Pray for those in our congregations who share their gift of music.
