Day 37 of Lent
Thursday, Mar. 13, 2008

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:14

To think about:

The word forgiveness is a power-packed and grace-filled word. To be forgiven is a daily need because we sin in thought, word and deed. Jesus died on the Cross for our sins. Through this gift we can live as an Easter people, rising each day in newness of life in the Risen Christ.

Forgiveness is not only a gift to be received. Forgiveness is to be extended to others. There are tears of joy whenever there is a reconciliation between persons who have been alienated from each other, some for many years! To be forgiven and to extend forgiveness to others is an important aspect in a life of faith.

To pray:

Dear Lord, help me to forgive as I have been forgiven. Amen.
