Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me,
even though they die, will live." John 11:25

This verse means to me that you will have eternal life. Everyone who knows and believes in Jesus will have eternal life. If you die you will live another life in heaven.

Thank you Jesus for giving us another life to live in heaven. Amen.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

This verse means to me that I can accomplish anything with God's help as long as I believe in Him. With God's help He will keep me strong.

Dear God help me to keep my faith in you strong. I know that with your help I can accomplish many things. Help me to make the right choices according to your plan. Amen.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39

This means that I will love God completely no matter what and my neighbor as myself.

Dear God, please be with all our troops and their families that need help and all people who need help or guidance, please help them. Amen.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16

This means to me that God loved all the people and He made a great sacrifice by giving up His only son, and all that believe in Him and praise Him for His undying love will live forever.

Dear Lord, we thank you for giving us your Son, who died on the cross for us and fagave our sins to give us eternal life. We praise you for your gratefulness and for your undying love. Amen.

“Unsatisfied”

“Do not steal.” Exodus 20:15

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard from my grandma, and surprisingly many other people, about how they stole a single piece of candy from the grocery store. It always begins with this little innocent child quickly and quietly slipping that shinny piece of candy into their pocket. They are very satisfied with themselves, that is, until Mom and the infamous “eyes in back of her head” catches the candy thief. In my grandma’s story her mother caught her with the stolen goods in the parking lot. She slapped her hand, made her apologize to the owner, gave back the candy and also paid for it. She said that was one of the most embarrassing moments of her life.

This has never happened to me personally because I would be much too afraid of the consequences. “Do not steal.” Three little words. This has to be one of the simplest commandments to understand, but one of the hardest to obey. We are jealous people, always wanting what others have; never satisfied. If you let the Lord into your life, he will satisfy you with His undying love.

Dear, Lord, Help us to resist temptations and lead us as we seek you to fill the gap of unsatisfaction with your love. Amen

“Money Worshipers”

“Do not worship any god except me.” Exodus 20:3

I like to shop. It is nice to have money so you can look at what is new and buy things. When I go shopping I always look at the price tag. If it is too expensive to me I don’t buy it. I have seen many people while shopping who don’t even glance at the price. They buy whatever they want, not caring what the price is just because they know they have money and lots of it. These people worship money. They only think of themselves and money. I have talked to some people like this and the conversations always end up leading to jobs and money. When these people make friends they don’t take the time to truly get to know people, and make real friends.

I believe that true friends are people that are kind and respect the Lord our God, because He truly is the one and only God. We should worship God because we can love and serve Him and He loves us and He forgives us. Money can’t love or forgive.

Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with your love and forgiveness. It is nice that we can love and worship you and you love us. Please help and guide those who don’t yet know of your love to hear your word. Amen

“My Friends and Me”

“Do not misuse my name.” Exodus 20:7

I like to hang around with my friends and go bike riding. When we fall off a rail, or something, we usually say, “God!” Right after I said this a little old lady yelled at me and told me to think about what I said. For a minute we all mocked her, but, later that night I actually thought about what she said, and she was right. I shouldn’t use the Lord’s name in vain.

Dear Lord, I know that I say your name a lot when I am not praying, but, I just get used to saying that and it just comes out. I hope you forgive me. And please help me change. Amen
